Original Research

In 2019, Anjelis Oliveira completed a constructivist grounded theory study examining nurses caring for transgender individuals.

The study identified Intentionality as the basic social process.

Regrouping Applying Mindfulness Moving Forward

The process was sequential, intertwined, and iterative.

These findings belong to the original study population and context. They are specific to that study and should not be generalized to other populations without appropriate scholarly support.

Presented the grounded theory framework of Intentionality developed through Anjelis Oliveira's doctoral research on nurses caring for transgender individuals.

The presentation described Intentionality as an active process involving Regrouping, Applying Mindfulness, and Moving Forward as nurses worked to provide respectful, professional, patient centered care.

Presented the doctoral dissertation and the grounded theory framework of Intentionality developed from the study of nurses caring for transgender individuals.

The presentation introduced the basic social process and its three categories: Regrouping, Applying Mindfulness, and Moving Forward.

Current Scholarship

Anjelis is currently developing her 2019 grounded theory research for peer reviewed publication and reconciling the original findings with contemporary literature while preserving the integrity of the original theoretical structure.

Her broader scholarly interests include intentionality, communication, empathy and self empathy, nursing leadership, human connection, healthcare education, and the human experience of care.
