Anjelis Oliveira, PhD, MSN/MHA, RN, is a nurse leader, researcher, educator, and speaker whose career has moved across clinical practice, healthcare operations, academic nursing, and organizational leadership.
She brings more than 20 years of nursing and healthcare experience and more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience across clinical, operational, academic, and organizational settings. Her experience spans specialty care, infusion services, neurology, emergency services, complex inpatient care, multisite operations, nursing excellence, professional practice, and education.
Her approach to leadership centers on visibility, communication, accountability, development, collaboration, and keeping the human experience visible within complex systems.

Her experience has reinforced the importance of listening to frontline perspectives, creating opportunities for meaningful participation, and approaching improvement as both an operational and human responsibility.
Her doctoral research used constructivist grounded theory to study nurses caring for transgender individuals. That study identified Intentionality as the basic social process, expressed through three categories (Regrouping, Applying Mindfulness, and Moving Forward) in a process that was sequential, intertwined, and iterative.
Work that extends intentionality into leadership, communication, empathy, and education is an evolving area of inquiry rather than a finding of that original study.
Teaching and developing others has been a consistent part of Anjelis's professional work since 2013. Her experience spans nursing education, healthcare professional development, academic instruction, research education, leadership development, and organizational learning.
She has taught and supported learners across clinical and academic environments, connecting evidence, leadership, communication, and real world healthcare practice.
Communication, Empathy & Care Experience
For more than a year, Anjelis has facilitated education within healthcare organizations focused on communication, empathy, and care experience, examining how everyday interactions, language, listening, and presence shape the experience of patients, families, and healthcare teams.
